I don't want to jinx anything or put the cart too much before the horse, but we've had some gorgeous weather the past several days, and the forecast is looking pretty good. I think it's safe to say March has come in like a lamb. And as much as I've been loving the weather, it's just making me that much more impatient for spring.
Now I know that we're not 100 percent out of the woods yet. Heck, we won't even be out once it officially becomes spring later this month. But I could care less; for all intents and purposes, spring is right around the corner, and thankfully the weather is starting to agree with me. It's about time. I haven't really been tracking the snow totals specifically for the QCA, but I know other parts of the state have been setting records for snow totals.
The only bad thing about warmer weather and all that snow melting off is that now we're going to have to keep a watchful eye on the rivers. Hopefully too much doesn't melt too fast and the rains will hold off. Otherwise we could be in for another round of flooding. I hope for the sake of some smaller area towns and towns in the surrounding region that are still recovering from the floods in 2008 that the flooding is kept to a minimum this year. Not to mention the fact that the state is already strapped for cash and is also still trying to sort out issues from the 2008 floods. It hardly seems like it's prepared to deal with the headache of another round of significant flooding. How about you? Are you ready for spring?
